History
For the first time in Republic of Moldova the National Society of Oil "Petrom" Romania Joint Stock Company was registered on the 16^th of October 1998 by opening a representative office in Chisinau. As a result of its reorganization, on the 18^th of May 2000,  F.S.C. "Petrom-Moldova" J.S.C. was officially created and registered by the Republic of Moldova's State Registration Chamber.

Petrom-Moldova developed a network of 116 oil stations on the whole territory of Republic of Moldova, thus providing an effective national coverage. For the time being we hold the leadership on the motor oil market by the number of filling stations.                    

In 1997, in Romania, the National Oil Society "Petrom" J.S.C. was found.  In 2004, 51% share of  „Petrom" J.S.C. were purchased by OMV Austrian Petroleum Group. Making up outside additional reserves acquisitions for the existent local reserves, is one of the Petrom international strategy aspect.
